EDITORIAL / BOOK DESIGN / LAYOUT

We were honoured to be asked to design the ‘Championing Cork - Cork Chamber of Commerce - 1819-2019’ book, written by Kieran McCarthy. We had the task of showcasing the collection of knowledge and photography and bringing it to life through design. The book contains 200 years of rich Cork History and some incredible photography from the archives. We handled both the design and production of the book which contains 7 extensive chapters and over 200 pages. We created a simple layout structure which allowed both the photography and words to be represented as clear and informative as possible. Each chapter took on it’s own colour, which we selected from the Cork Chamber of Commerce Brand Identity Guidelines. One of the main design features to note is the use of the timeline graphic throughout the book. It features on the front cover as well as on all the chapter break pages, to highlight the journey through the book as well as Cork History.
